Surveys

Underwater surveys by divers are essential to the success of any project that involves placement of structures underwater. Divers will pick up much more information than even the most modern side scan sonars. Without the human element things may be missed that could put the success of project in doubt! Accurate surveys by divers will save more time in the long run by preventing mistakes in advance, designs and planning can be altered and improved upon prior to implementation. Underwater surveys are the foundation for success of any project.
Deep Photography
Our diving team has the capabilities of producing digital photos of deep underwater areas to facilitate proper planning of projects and enables project engineers to make correct decisions on how best to proceed with the work. This also allows a visual progress report throughout a project to be seen by all involved. If any problems occur in the operation all parties involved can then decide on the correct solution to the problem thus reducing the time frame of the project.
Proper Planning

Much of the pre - dive planning for survey work can be done before the dive team enters the water. This preparation can save valuable underwater time and getting the work completed properly in less dives. Here divers had prepared pre-measured lines and small blocks to make a template on the seabed for the installation of a ships mooring involving several large concrete blocks and an anchor all linked with heavy chain. With this template in place blocks and chains could then be accurately lowered into place according to the engineers diagrams thus saving time later in the project.
Getting the job done
When survey work needs extra time underwater our team utilises twin diving tanks filled with Enriched Air Nitrox mixes allowing the divers increased bottom time over similar dives conducted with air and single tanks.
